"I watched a client pay hundreds every month just to edit her own website, because the agency that built it made sure only they could touch it."

It was 2019. I was freelancing in SEO, sitting with a client whose site had just launched. She was excited — it looked great. But the moment she asked about updating the homepage copy, the reality hit. The agency had built it on a CMS only they understood. They'd handed her "access" that was too complex to use, and billed her a monthly retainer just to make the changes she should've been able to do herself in five minutes.

She wasn't paying for expertise. She was paying rent on her own business. Every update, every small fix, every word change — another invoice. The agency hadn't built her a website. They'd built a dependency. And dressed it up as a service.

"That's the moment I realized most agencies don't build for clients. They build cages and call them websites."

I started seeing this everywhere. Law firms locked out of their own CRM. E-commerce stores running on a platform they couldn't migrate away from without losing everything. SaaS startups paying three different agencies — web, SEO, marketing — none of whom talked to each other, all sending conflicting reports every month. The businesses were growing, but the infrastructure underneath them was rented, fragile, and owned by someone else.

And then there's the risk nobody talks about: what happens when the platform decides to change its pricing? Or worse — shuts down entirely? I've watched businesses built entirely on a single CMS or SaaS tool get blindsided overnight. A pricing update doubles their costs. A platform sunset gives them 90 days to migrate five years of content. They had no backup, no portable code, no exit strategy — because they were never given one. They didn't own anything. They were just renting, and the landlord changed the terms.

Everything today is a subscription. Your website. Your email. Your CRM. Your analytics. Your forms. Your support chat. Most businesses are paying twelve different monthly fees for tools that half-work together — and none of it is theirs.

That's not a business. That's a collection of recurring commitments to vendors who have every incentive to make you dependent and none to make you free. The moment you stop paying, it all disappears. The moment they change their terms, you're stuck.

I started Orion Corps to break that model entirely. Every site we build, every automation we set up, every SEO system we deploy — you own it outright. The source code is yours. The credentials are yours. The knowledge is documented and handed over. We don't create dependencies. We eliminate them.

And we don't push you toward a platform that works for us. If your team already knows WordPress, Shopify, or any other system — we build on that, and we make sure you have full, unrestricted access from day one. If you want something built from the ground up that you own completely, we architect that too. The choice is yours, not ours. What we never do is make that choice for you and then charge you every time you want to use it.

No proprietary lock-ins. No service disguised as a leash. When we're done building, you walk away with the keys — not a monthly subscription to infrastructure you can never leave.

Who We Are

Every expert you need. One team that actually talks to each other.

We are a team of specialists — web engineers, SEO strategists, brand designers, performance marketers, and automation architects. Every discipline you'd otherwise hire three different agencies for, we have in-house, under one roof, and working toward the same goal.

That's not a small thing. When your developer understands SEO, your marketer understands the tech stack, and your automation engineer knows your brand voice — the output is entirely different. Nothing gets lost in handoff. Nothing gets built in isolation. Every part of your digital presence is connected because the people building it are.

The Current Era

The web is broken.
We're engineering the fix.

Most agencies build your site on a CMS only they understand, hosted on infrastructure you can't access. Every time you want to change a headline, you raise a ticket, wait three days, and pay for the privilege. The dependency is their product, and you pay rent on it monthly.

We deploy on infrastructure you own outright. Day one, you get every credential, every repository, every API key. You can migrate it, self-host it, or hand it to any other developer tomorrow. No strings, because we never needed them.

SEO is usually the last thing anyone thinks about. The website launches, it looks beautiful, and three months later an SEO freelancer is hired to bolt keywords onto pages and send monthly PDF reports.

We engineer search visibility into the architecture before a single line of code is written. Traditional search and AI answer engines — ChatGPT, Copilot, Perplexity — are targeted simultaneously. Where search goes, we are already building.

A logo file in a ZIP folder is not a brand. But that's what most businesses receive — a folder of assets with no system behind them. The visual language falls apart the moment a new team member has to use it.

We build complete visual systems and architect brand sovereignty. Typography hierarchy, color rules, layout principles — all living on infrastructure you control. Every person on your team can use it without asking for help.

The classic agency play: run ads, drive traffic, and report on impressions. The conversion rate is terrible, but clicks are easy to count, and the real problem — that the page itself doesn't work — goes ignored.

We build the conversion architecture first, then turn the traffic on. The page has to earn its visitors before we spend a dollar sending them there. We measure one thing: did it move the business forward?

Zapier free tier connecting your CRM to your email with three steps and a prayer is not automation infrastructure. It's duct tape with a dashboard. It breaks quietly, and nobody knows how to fix it when it does.

We build deterministic, custom-code pipelines with built-in error handling. We document every system we build — the logic, the triggers, the exceptions — and hand it over. When we're done, you understand exactly what you own.

Why is digital sovereignty and owning my website source code important for my business?

Renting your digital infrastructure from an agency or a proprietary CMS platform means you don't actually own your digital storefront. If they change their pricing, shut down, or decide to terminate your account, you lose everything. Digital sovereignty means you hold the keys, the source code, and the data—giving you absolute control and portability.

How do AI answer engines like ChatGPT and Perplexity change traditional Search Everywhere Optimisation (SEO) strategies?

Traditional SEO focuses entirely on ranking ten blue links in Google based on keyword density and backlinks. The new era of AI answer engines relies on semantic understanding and entity relationships to directly answer user queries. To survive, a brand must be structurally optimized for both legacy search engines and Large Language Models simultaneously.

What are the risks of using proprietary CMS platforms or rented website builders?

Proprietary builders prioritize their ecosystem over your performance. They often inject heavy, unoptimized code that ruins PageSpeed scores, making it harder to rank. Worse, they lock you into their ecosystem. When you outgrow the platform or disagree with their terms, migrating away usually means rebuilding your entire website from scratch.

Why should a business consolidate web development, SEO, branding, and marketing under one agency?

Fragmentation destroys growth. When your web developers don't talk to your SEO specialists, and your marketers don't understand your tech stack, you end up with conflicting strategies, broken tracking, and wasted budget. Consolidating under one engineering-focused team ensures that every discipline amplifies the others.

How does custom-coded automation infrastructure compare to free-tier tools like Zapier?

Tools like Zapier are fantastic for quick prototypes, but they are fragile. They rely on third-party webhooks that break without warning, and error handling is practically non-existent on basic tiers. Custom-coded, deterministic automation pipelines run on your own infrastructure, providing robust logging, alerting, and zero recurring transaction fees.

What happens to my website and data if my digital marketing agency shuts down?

If you used a traditional agency that hosted your site on their private servers and built it on their proprietary systems, your site shuts down with them. At Orion Corps, we deploy your assets on infrastructure you own outright (like your own AWS or Vercel account). If we ever part ways, your site stays live without a single interruption.
